Meet the team of students behind COMUN
Students from all over Sri Lanka unite to make COMUN the most prestigious Model United Nations conference in Sri Lanka
193 Countries. 6 Committees. 1 Conference
At the First General Assembly of COMUN 2017 prepare to debate topics with international relevance requiring expansive knowledge of the international security regime. We want to discover new avenues to the pursuit of lasting international peace as opposed to using the well trodden path.
We want delegates to take newly emerging concepts on the international security arena and turn them into implementable solutions. We require technical brilliance and a open mind. If you have what it takes feel free to join.
The Third General Assembly is a committee which will be a diplomatic forum, with an encouraging environment for those starting and those continuing their initial stages of their Model United Nations career.
We’re looking for delegates that are able to understand conventional social problems from a broader perspective and formulate grassroot level solutions. We’re seeking for diplomats that are willing to put themselves in the shoes of the victims, in order to create a spectrum of approaches. Finally, as a head table we are expecting constant improvement from our delegates.
The General Assembly 4 this time will not only incorporate “special, political and decolonization” issues but also aspects of international law and security; therefore, the head table expects the delegates to be well prepared on these aspects. Furthermore the head table also expects delegates of advanced and intermediate caliber.
This year the committee would be ranging from aspects of Rule of Law to Self-Determination to the question of statehood and etc. So General Assembly 4 this year would be one committee you would not want to miss.
The WHA aims to give students who currently study health oriented subjects a forum to apply relevant knowledge. Yet, we expect delegates to have a desire to learn and thereby research to great extents. As a result, not only will a delegate have the right to debate more, but also the understanding of his/her academic concepts multiplies. Within the halls of this committee, knowledge truly is power.
In a world still recovering from the turmoil of economic calamity, amidst a social crisis and a reforming European Union the Economic and Social Council plans to develop a holistic strategy to resolve and asses the current global crisis.
The head table this year expects the delegates to be experienced and well researched.
Taking a leap into the future, can we make the world a better place?
If you don’t know SC, this committee is not for you!
